Somebody else pays for part of it, and most businesses miss the window.
It covers management software. It does not obviously cover a website, and we would rather say so.
What it is
The first national edition of a voucher run through Punto Impresa Digitale, the digital arm of the chambers of commerce. It is a contributo a fondo perduto, meaning a grant rather than a loan, awarded under de minimis rules.
The scheme puts 150 million euro behind it across 2026 to 2029, at up to 70% of a project depending on the chamber. Checked on 6 September 2026 against the PID scheme page, and these things move, so read it there before you rely on it.
The catch is that there is no single deadline
It is national money handed out locally. Each chamber of commerce opens and closes its own window and sets its own ceiling, so Bergamo and Bari are running different clocks on the same scheme.
Applications are prepared on ReStart, at restart.infocamere.it. The only date that matters to you is your own chamber's, and it is on your chamber's site rather than anywhere national.
What it covers
The eligible list runs to artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, connected devices, cloud, ERP and CRM systems, data analytics, blockchain, robotics, augmented reality, sustainability tools, and the consulting and training around them.
ERP and CRM is the line that matters to a small business with a stock problem. That is the same category as a management system built around one trade.
What it does not obviously cover
A website. Nothing in the published categories names sites, online shops or advertising, and we are not going to read one in because it would suit us. If somebody tells you the voucher pays for a new site, ask them which category.
Ask your own chamber before you plan around it, and ask in writing.
What to do this week if it applies to you
Find your chamber, find whether its window is open, and read the categories against the thing you actually want built. That is an hour of work and it happens before anybody quotes you anything.
None of this is advice from an accountant, and we are not one. It is where to look.
Questions worth asking
Do you handle the application?
No. That is work for your commercialista or a consultant who does bandi for a living, and doing it badly costs you the window. We can describe the technical side of a project in writing so somebody else can submit it.
Is it first come first served?
Each chamber decides, and several run it that way, which is why the opening date matters as much as the closing one. Read your own chamber's rules rather than a summary of somebody else's.
What if my chamber's window has closed?
The scheme is funded to 2029, so there is very likely another round. That is a reason to get the project written down now rather than to hurry a bad one out this month.
Can I use it for training instead?
Specialist consulting and training are in the eligible list, so often yes. Whether yours qualifies is a question for the chamber, and they answer it.
