Nobody can quote this honestly without looking first.

Four things decide the number. A studio that names a price before knowing any of them has guessed.

What actually moves the number

How many pages your range genuinely needs. How much competition already sits on the words you want. Whether the site you have can be repaired or has to be rebuilt. And how many languages you publish, because each one is a separate piece of writing and a separate thing to keep current.

Change any of those four and the figure moves a long way. That is why we do not publish a rate card.

Why we will not print a starting price

A published floor does one of two things. Either it is low enough to be meaningless and every real quote lands above it, or it is high enough to send away businesses we could have helped cheaply. Both are a way of avoiding the conversation.

What we will say is that the first work we recommend is very often free, and we say which parts those are before any money is discussed.

How to read a quote you have been given

Ask what happens in month one and what happens in month six, and see whether the answers differ. Ask what you own at the end. Ask who does the writing. A studio that sells with a senior and delivers with somebody junior is common enough that the question is fair.

Then ask what they would do first if you paid nothing at all. The answer to that one is the most revealing.

Where an Italian quote differs from an Albanian one

Competition, mostly. The same trade in a Lombardy city has more established rivals with older sites than it does in Durres, so the work takes longer and the number reflects that. Pretending otherwise would be the fastest way to disappoint somebody.

What the free audit tells you before you spend

What the site does well, where the gaps are, and what we would repair first in order. It arrives as a PDF within 24 hours and it is yours whether you hire anybody or not, including if you take it to a different studio.

Questions worth asking

Is it cheaper because you are not in Italy?

Usually, and we would rather say that plainly than pretend the reason is something more flattering. Costs are lower here. What you should compare is the work and what you own at the end, not the postcode it was done from.

Do you charge monthly or per project?

Both exist, and which one suits you depends on whether the work has an end. A rebuild ends. Competing for words does not, because the businesses above you keep working too.

What do I own if we stop?

The domain, the code and every account, in your name from day one. That is the only arrangement that leaves you free to walk away from us without asking permission first.

Can I start with something small?

Yes, and it is usually the sensible order. Fix the listing, fix the obvious faults on the site, see what moves over a couple of months, then decide whether anything larger is worth doing.

Will you tell me if I should not spend anything?

Yes, and it happens. If advertising would serve you better this quarter than search work, that is what the audit will say, even though it is the answer that earns us less.
